Question your “Knowledge”

Question your “Knowledge”

Today we are stepping back from the research-driven articles I have been writing and we are going to talk about something that is perhaps even more important.

What we are going to discuss is your “knowledge.”

What you know, and how you’ve come to know it.

Your knowledge is based off of your experience.  Your experience is your life journey and it includes your recognition of other’s journeys/experiences.

Your knowledge is molded by your perception of experiences.

“Perception is your point-of-view.

It’s how you measure, or misconstrue

things you do, and events too.

Like a cup half-full or a cup half-empty,

Your mind is a vessel for thoughts, of which you’ll have plenty.

…But is your knowledge your perception?

Or a virus born from another’s misconception?

Please build a wall for your own protection.

Armed with Questions as your weapons.

Don’t be a victim of the Deception.

Seek knowledge as an obsession.

Perception demands your full attention!

Because your view is your own selection.

Select wisely, pursue the truth.

Remain curious, as the youth.

Do you mirror that of the masses?

Or is the Illusion finally collapsing?“

So what does this all even mean?

Let’s see if my next clue will zero you in….

yarddog

“If a dog barks long enough, other dogs will bark with it…”

I had that thought, while I was doing my warmup through an area heavily populated with dogs.

Only one dog was near me.

But because this one dog was incessantly barking, it started a chain reaction which quickly resulted in an ensemble of dogs barking across the entire neighborhood.

The dog barks spread like wildfire across the land.

Yet none of these dogs, except the one, even knew why they were barking.

Some dogs just bark to bark, just like some people just talk to talk.

It goes like this…

One person will hear some news – whether its factual or not – and start barking.  Another person hears this barking, and then starts barking too.

Eventually the whole world is barking just because everyone else was barking.

Those that don’t bark right away are the smart ones.  They know that one dog barking doesn’t warrant the need for him to bark.

Nope.

This dog keeps his cool.  He is the type of dog that only barks once he knows it is pertinent.  This is the dog you need to be.  This dog is curious, but not quick to be fooled.

This dog hasn’t suffered from years of domestication like the other dogs.

This dog hasn’t suffered from a lifetime of unnatural processed food.

No…this dog is more like a Wolf.
A wolf roams as he pleases and makes his own decisions.

A wolf eats natural, living food from the Earth.  Food that hasn’t been tainted by the grubby paws of society.

You should strive to Be the Wolf.

 wolf

Don’t be the dog that barks just because other dogs bark.

Be the Wolf that lets others know when to bark.

How is any of this related to “Questioning your “Knowledge?””

I’ll tell you.

The reason you need to maintain curiosity and ask questions is because it is VERY LIKELY that your “knowledge” was derived from these “barking dogs.”

Even your closest friends, and most trusted family members could be feeding you another dog’s bark.

You never know, until you know.

You see, most people are like dogs in a cage, who constantly bark just because others are barking.

These “caged” dogs represent people who are “trapped” in a certain line of thinking and unable to see past their yard because of their mental cage.

People who don’t allow themselves to be confined in this manner are more curious and less willing to accept the reality of “yard dog” because they have seen what life is like outside of the yard.

These people question everything because they can see how one ripple in the pond can extend to both ends of the lake.

But don’t get me wrong…There is a certain attractiveness that being a yard dog entails.  It’s a good life because everything makes sense.

Without questions, there are only answers.  Answers are comforting and make you feel secure in your reality.

Where do the “yard dog’s” answers come from anyways?

They are dictated by the dogs that have been barking the longest and the loudest.

They require no other criteria.  The only factors involved are length and noise level – and that is exactly what it is…NOISE.  Noise that drowns out the barks that are actually important.

The howls for health are muffled by the “yard dog’s” yelp!

You see, once you start questioning things, it can get scary.   It is scary because things start making less sense.  A LOT less sense.

You end up with more “Why’s?” than answers.

You end up knowing less than when you started.

But what happened?  You didn’t suddenly become stupid, right?  Of course not…

It’s a problem that even Einstein – arguably the smartest man of all time – faced.  To quote Einstein himself,  the problem is “That the more I learn, the less I know.”

Asking questions often leads you with more questions than answers.  Yet the beauty of it is that these unanswered questions serve to self-perpetuate the desire for more knowledge.

So even though you know that you know nothing – relatively speaking, of course – it doesn’t deter you from seeking knowledge anyway because of the self-perpetuating loop.

Curiosity fuels curiosity.

So stay curious my friends, because eventually you will find your answers…along with a whole bunch of new questions, ha!

This article was inspired by the barks that I have uncovered in my research and during my lifetime.

Some of these barks include: cortisol, diet, drinking water,  the real road to becoming rich, light and dark, oxygen, energy, and so much more…

Don’t worry, I will explain what I mean in due time.

In fact, one of these barks is going to be discussed in early 2016 through a guest-post written by my friend Mike “Cathexis.”

Hopefully you now understand the value of keeping an open mind and questioning your “knowledge.”

The moral of the story is to ask questions and not follow everything blindly.

Don’t be a yard-dog.

Be a Wolf, and seek truth on your own accord.

“Bellow your own Barks!”

Have a safe and Happy New Years everyone!

The Best Diet and Best Exercise, Hands Down!

What is the Best Diet and Best Exercise?

In a land where we are bombarded with so many options and paths, deciding where to start can be very intimidating.  Everyone seems to be an expert and it is their way or the highway!

With so many choices – many of which contradict the others – one can easily get overwhelmed and likely choose to do nothing.  You would think having so many options would be a good thing, right?  Not quite…

Lucky for you, I’ve already tried the majority of diets and exercise routines that are out there.  I’ve discovered which ones are crap and which ones are worthwhile.

And now I am going to tell you the best diet and best exercise you could possibly do.

“PLEASE! Tell me the best diet and best exercise!”

Ok, ok.  It’s a simple answer, really.

Prepare to be shocked…

Drum roll please.

…

…

…

The best diet and best exercise are ones that you will consistently follow.

“No way!”

“Like, I can’t even!!!”

That’s right.

The best diet and best exercise are simply the ones that you will stick with.

What’s the point in trying to improve your health with some crazy new diet fad if you are going to drop that habit and resort to your old ways shortly after?

Seems like a waste of time to me.

“Okay, so there is no best diet and best exercise…but that still doesn’t help me know where to start…”

How to Eat for Life, Fat Loss, and Muscle and Exercise: Strengthening the Beast are good places to start.

How do you choose the best diet and best exercise for YOU?

I don’t know about you, but time is very important to me.  I want to get the best results from the least amount of time.

Because my time is so important, I rely on using my time conveniently.  If a routine is very inconvenient for me, then I won’t do it.

Convenience can conveniently be broken down into a few subcategories:

  1. Time – Does preparing the food require a lot of time?  Am I going to have to purchase a lot of spices, etc so I can cook this food?  How often do I have to workout, and for how long?  Can I do this at home or do I need a gym membership?  All of these questions come to my mind as I can be very impatient.  Especially when I’m hungry.
  2. Social – If I have to eat out somewhere, will they have food that fits my “diet?”  If I’m invited to a cookout or dinner can I eat without requesting special accommodations?  Eating is such a social event – you will face challenges here constantly.  Unfortunately, it’s just something you’ll have to learn to deal with.  Don’t let anyone stand in your way.
  3. Price – Am I going to have to break the bank to stick with this plan?  Are there cheaper alternative?  What are my options?  The price is always something to consider.

For me, convenience is a big factor in deciding upon the best diet and best exercise.

What’s convenient for me, may not be convenient for you.  This is something that only you know and that you will have to take into account.

Going 100 is a detailed compilation of my whole life’s worth of research and experience condensed into an easy-to-follow guide.  I include what I have found to be the most effective ways to gain marked results with minimal time expended.

I include options for people with either “money to blow” or “money no-go.”

I encourage you to read it, apply it, and work it into your schedule in a way that best conveniences you.  The most important thing is to stay dedicated, persistent, and never give up.

Why did I even bother writing this article on the “best diet and best exercise?”

Because most people, myself included, only want the very best.  During this search, we often miss out on golden opportunities because we are too busy looking for the “best” one.

If all of the time we wasted searching, was spent APPLYING, we would have already achieved our goals.

The Takeaway: You should always be working towards something – even if you aren’t using the so called “best method.”

Let’s be honest:

The only type of diet you will follow is one that includes foods that you enjoy eating.

The only type of exercises you will do are ones that don’t require you to be in the gym for hours at a time.

Just in case you completely missed it, I am going to tell you the secret again:

Almost every diet and exercise routine is going to work as long as you fully commit to it and stick with it.  If your eating habits and exercising habits aren’t sustainable, then what’s the point?

Make conscious eating and exercising a LIFESTYLE, not a trend.

It takes 21 days to create a new habit.  Start today and push through the pain.  Tackle any obstacles that may come your way.

Trust me when I say that once these things become a habit and are integrated into your core being, sticking with them will be a breeze.

You will start feeling “off” if you miss a workout or when you let unhealthy food fork you over.

So quit making excuses and make the decision to better yourself RIGHT NOW!

Make a convenience plan, stick with it, set goals, and crush them.

Oh yeah, and one more time:

The best diet and best exercise are ones you will follow.

Peace,

-Matt
